ADVISING ADULT LEARNERS

The Adult Learners Commission helps NACADA members who work with adult learners on a frequent or daily basis to better serve this ever-growing segment of the higher education population. Members receive the Adult Learner Commission Outlook newsletter and the list serve announcements directed specifically toward those who serve adult learners. The commission serves as an advocate for adult learners and their advising needs.

We endeavor to sponsor a substantial number of high quality sessions at both regional and national conferences focused on the needs of adult learners. We meet to discuss issues of common interest during the Commission's meeting at the national conference and electronically through our list serve.  Please join our list serve so you won't miss any communications. We host an annual commission dinner at the national conference that promotes networking and camaraderie through informal activity.

bulletTo help all advisors and members of NACADA become aware of the diverse needs of adults in higher education and how these needs differ from those of traditional students.
