NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT WEEK

The second annual Non-Traditional Student Week will be conducted November 5-9, 2001.  Here's a little about the history of this event.  Join in the fun this year and share with us your activities so we can add to the examples for others.

In 2000 a group of representatives from the following organizations:

ACPA: American College Personnel Association
ANTSHE: Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education
CAEL: Council for Adult & Experiential Learning
NACADA: National Academic Advising Association
NODA: National Orientation Directors Association

designed the initial plans and obtained national designation for the first week in November to be Non-Traditional Student Week. The Wednesday of that week was also designated Non-Traditional Student Day, if some institutions wanted to concentrate their activities on one day. Below you will find a few ideas of activities that some schools did last year.

You can use your imagination, creativity, and your own institution's particular organizations to plan events. The idea is to promote non-traditional students on campus and to the wider community. You will find infinite ways to do that. Let us know what you come up with so we can share those ideas with others.
