Objectives to address Goals:

	Submit proposals related to advising adult learners for presentation at regional and national conferences
	Liaisons from the Commission to regions disseminate information about the work of the Commission
	Liaisons from the Commission recruit colleagues to attend, present, and participate in regional conferences
	Produce Commission newsletter to improve communication between the conferences
	Initiate the Commission list serve
	Initiate the Commission web page
	Produce the Handbook for Advisors of Adult Learners to distribute via the web site

Actions taken towards Objectives:

	Record number of proposals about adult learners submitted
	Liaison to each region (but one) appointed. Several regions have a team to assist the Commission Liaison.
	Liaisons leading roundtable discussions, networking sessions, and encouraging presentations at regional meetings
	Produced post-conference newsletter and distributed it to the list serve
	List serve begun.
	Outlined contents for the web page. Need to work with national staff to implement.
	Talked to Lynda Best and stressed the importance of completing the Handbook in summer 2001

Objectives to meet Strategic Plan:

	Foster a collaboration with the Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE), the Non-Traditional Student Report, and identify other similar organizations for collaborative activities dealing with issues of advising adult learners
	Identify and address the critical issues of adult learners in the 21st century
	Link to appropriate adult learner web sites on the new Commission web page to provide resources for those advisors working with adult learners.

Actions taken on Strategies:

	Commission Chair provided articles for recent Non-Traditional Student Report.
	Commission Liaisons to the regions to seek input on critical issues at regional discussions
	Chair-Elect designated to search for suitable sites for links from our Commission web page

Future Activities Planned:

	Establishment of web page for the Commission
	Publication of pre-conference newsletter to be distributed via list serve and web site
	Publication of the Handbook for Advisor of Adult Learners to be distributed at the fall conference and then by web site
	Continued training of the Chair-elect
