REQUIREMENT
2 Read
through pages 1-17 in the merit badge book and use the information below to
complete requirement 2 on the worksheet. Answer
the following:
Explain how one becomes a citizen in
the United States, and explain the rights, duties, and obligations of U.S.
citizenship. Discuss the similarities and differences between the rights,
duties, and obligations of U.S. citizens and the citizens of two other
countries. People born in the United States, as well as those born in other countries but to parents who are U.S. citizens, are automatically citizens of the U.S. All others who wish to be U.S. citizens must follow "naturalization” or citizenship rules. To answer this question, go to the Naturalization page of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. Read through the rules and requirements, especially on the General Naturalization Requirements page, for someone to become a U.S. citizen. Finally, go to the Naturalization Self-Test and complete at least 20 of the questions. On the worksheet, report how many you answered correctly.
