A workshop useful to those entering into contracts and working with ESCOs who desire an understanding of the  development and evaluation of M&V plans being used to verify savings, to help you feel more comfortable with the plan implemented. And useful to those with some experience, to help in understanding and finding more streamlined ways to measure and verify.

$675, includes comprehensive seminar workbook, copy of IPMVP, and refreshments during breaks. (Lunch is not included.)

 

Deadline February 19, 2003.

Purpose: This hands-on workshop is intended to enhance understanding of M&V requirements involved in ESPC contracts, the technical background of established M&V guidelines, and the development and / or evaluation of M&V plans. Primarily designed for energy managers & contracting personnel, it is also beneficial to all energy industry professionals.

Content: Main topics include: M&V definition, established guidelines, M&V plans, contractor-owner responsibilities, baseline determination, approach options A, B, C, & D, savings verification, periodic audit & reconciliation, and value (cost vs. benefit). Relevant examples of real ESPC projects will be utilized to reinforce learning via M&V plan development, along with active group exercises to provide realistic scenarios.

Instructor: Steve Sain is President of Sain Engineering Associates, Inc., Birmingham, AL, a consulting firm specializing in energy conservation in existing facilities and selected by DOE as one of the top 20 energy engineering firms in the country. Steve has delivered similar M&V training in the U.S. and overseas and has appeared as an expert witness in ESPC lawsuits.
