Bichaka Fayissa is Professor of Economics at Middle Tennessee State University,
Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Professor Fayissa received
his undergraduate degree from the Haile Selassie I University,
Addis Ababa , Ethiopia and his MS, MA, and Ph. D degrees from the
University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His areas of research
interests include: Economic Development, Resource Economics,
Studies of Public Policy Issues. His articles have appeared in World
Development, Applied Economics, American Economist, Keil World Economics,
Quarterly Review of Business and Finance, Journal of Developing Areas, International Journal
of Social Economics, Economia Internazionale, Review Black
Political Economy, Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of
Legal Economics, American Business Review , Journal of Business
and Economic Perspectives, and Business and Economic Review.
He is the Director of the Inroads Activities at Middle
Tennessee State University. He is the recipient of the 2001 Outstanding Public
Service Award and 1992
Outstanding Faculty Research Award. During his free time, he
enjoys playing tennis.
