COURSE GOAL:  The goal of Elementary Algebra is to help students achieve a level of academic competence in elementary algebra skills that will enable them to work successfully in the Intermediate Algebra Course of the DSP and in college level courses.

PLACEMENT: Students are placed in DSPM 0800 based on their ACT Mathematics sub-score or their performance on the COMPASS Placement Test. Once placed, students must successfully complete the class before enrolling in another mathematics course. Please see the Academic Support Center advisors, 898-2339,  if there are any questions concerning placement.

TEST UP OPPORTUNITY: In DSPM 0800, students are given the opportunity to test out of the class and proceed to DSPM 0850: Intermediate Algebra.
