Advanced Training and Development
Recently, students in the Advanced Training class worked on a project to develop and deliver training for Hollywood Entertainment in Lavergne, TN. The training is for associates for three work processes: 1) shipping and receiving, 2) processing, and 3) picking and packing. The training is done on PowerPoint and includes digital photos, videos, and animated graphics along with sound and text to explain how the process should be done to meet customer requirements.
A package of training materials was also put together on the Web for the internal use of the company. A sample of these materials is provided below so you can get an idea of what the students put together.
Students in a previous Advanced Training class did a project for Franke Commercial Systems. In this facility, training was developed for Picking, Packing, Returned Merchandise Authorization, and Consolidation (large container shipping).
Several years ago, students did a project with the Pillsbury company. Students worked on problem solving processes with a team of employees from the plant. The project involved collecting needs assessment data for the design of training, creation of a training video and delivery of the training.
