Teaching Quality Summit Goals

The Tennessee Teaching Quality Summit conference is designed to generate a rationale and agenda for addressing teaching issues in the state of Tennessee.  It will primarily focus on teacher recruitment, preparation, retention, and certification.  Products of the conference  will include live transmission of the conference via the Internet, recordings of all sessions to be uploaded and maintained at a conference website, white papers to be uploaded to the website and printed for publication, and bound conference proceedings for dissemination to key stakeholders.  Summary materials in print and on the web will be organized around three themes: policy issues and implications; research needs and support; and training and practice issues and needs.
