I am writing a story on Kirsten Boatwright. Boatwright was featured on the News and Public Affairs webpage recently. She has numerous acheivements and is working toward a doctorate degree in English with hopes of some day becoming an English professor.
I will interview an MTSU faculty member and a student that have service with Comcast. I will also interview the Director of Comcast Customer Service. I will include some background of conventional phone line service, cable modem and DSL.
Saturday 6th Tin Pan South held a Murfreesboro showcase at the end. This story will tell how that went and what the folks at Tin Pan South wanted to accomplish by having an all Murfreesboro show.

I am heading to the Appalachian Mountains for spring break, in North Carolina and Virginia. My buddies and I are going to be cutting our own trails with machetties and will be hunting game for our food. This is going to be a very primitive experience and I am going to document the entire trip.

I will be writing a story on the Stones River Coffee Company that opened last spring in the Kroger shopping center on Northfield. I will interview the owner, Roger Painter, and talk with a couple of other employees. This story will include what the store offers such as coffee, cappucino, and other drink items, what kind of entertainment they provide, and anything else that might be of interest to MTSU students and faculty.
This interview will focus around Charles Frost, a professor here at MTSU.

This story will provide coverage of "This Is Your Brain on Steroids," a lecture by animal behavior researcher Dr. Jennifer Swann as a part of Women's History Month. Information will be provided about the effects of steroids on mating behavior.
I plan to interview MTSU professor Dr. Diane Gower, who has been named Distinguished Professor of the Year by the Tennessee Reading Association. This story will recognize her receiving that award, her research on reading, and her thoughts on the reading condition of Tennessee students.
Local heavy alternative band Element 8 has been stirring up some serious hype around Murfreesboro and Nashville. Packing clubs like Bongo Johnny's and 328 Performance Hall in Nashville, the word on the street is these cats might soon get signed to a recording contract.
The story will give the general information about the workshops, which will be held the 13th and 14th of this month. It will include reasons students should attend, what will go on during the workshops, what they will learn from going, etc.

There is a film series that residential life is running for the campus. The movies will be honoring women, and I will find out which ones will be shown, when, where at (either KUC or the campus movie channel) and why.
This band is one of the epitamizers of the Murfreesboro punk scene. Fueled by the high energy and politcal lyrics of lead vocalist Dave Copeland, The Sloths have definitely made their mark on Murfreesboro. This is hardcore punk, not Emo. All are MTSU students, except Copeland, who graduated last December.
Story will focus on the switchover, and any troubles that it caused.

I will talk to the director and gather information to write a profile on this organizations purpose and goals for MTSU.
This story will look at the MTSU quiz bowl team, by introducing all of its members. Past competitions (esp. the Chattanooga Competition) as well as up coming ones will be discussed with the team. The story will provide readers with a better understanding of what happens at a quiz bowl and why the MTSU team did so well at the last competition.
This story will discuss unemloyment in Tennessee, as well as unemployment rates for Murfreesboro and Davidson County, and how these rates compare to other averages across the nation.
I want to write an article that includes professors and students opinions on cell phone usuage on campus. I've already checked, and there are no campus policies restricting them or other electronic devices in the classroom, but I can get several professors' classroom policies. I will also include polls that find out the number of students who own a cell phone, and then whether or not they bring them to class. I think the article will be interesting to the student body, because most people either own one, or have an opinion on it.
The story will focus on religious organizations on campus, such as the Baptist Student Union and Campus Crusades for Christ. I will talk to the people who are in charge of these organizations, and also to students. The story will include the purpose of the organizations and the activities they are involved in. I will also include profiles on non-religious organizations, if there are any.
Does MTSU have a cell phone policy? Why some instructors insist to ban cell phones in class rooms? What do professors think of the interruptions? Do cell phones disrupt the class?
Amber Timbs is an actress starring in "Romeo and Juliet" at the Murfreesboro Little Theatre. After the show closes, she is moving to Hollywood. The story will be a profile of her.

An idea for Valentine’s Days gifts, from common to crazy. I will be talking with local florists, fraternities and sororities, and any one else who might be delivered some Valentine's Day goods or services.
The story will focus on the opportunities available at the fair, how to get tickets, who is eligible, when and where it will take place, ect.
This will be a story about MTSU's new minor: Environment and Human Society. I will interview Dr. Lynn Nelson, minor advisor. In the story I will discuss which classes are required for the minor as well as which carreers the course of study would be most helpful in. I am also going to try to find students who are participating in the minor and talk with them.
