Health Education
An undergraduate major in Health Education encompasses the basic curriculum for those interested in the numerous health-related professions. Students wanting to teach will choose k-12 licensure, enhancing their preparation for leadership positions in schools. Community and public health education prepares graduates for positions in volunteer health organizations, health care centers, and public health departments. The Health Science and Technology concentration prepares students who have health care licensure to teach in high school health science programs.
The department also offers minors in health and health/physical education which complement other academic disciplines such as psychology, sociology, biology, and human sciences. Students with bachelor’s degree in Nursing may count nursing hours as a minor toward a B.S. degree with a major in Health Education.
