Studies. You may find all relevant forms on the graduate studies website
at http://www.mtsu.edu/~graduate/
including enrollment and financial aid materials.
Q:
Can I enroll in classes before being formally admitted into the program?
A: Yes. MTSU is an open enrollment university, which means that
you may enroll in up to 3 classes before being formally admitted into
our program. However two of those classes must be our introductory courses,
MC 6000 and MC 6010.
Q:
Is financial aid available?
A: Yes. The College of Graduate studies does have some financial
aid available for students who meet certain criteria. This aid may be
in the form of scholarships, fellowships, and loans. Contact the College
of Graduate Studies for more information.
Q:
Are there jobs available on campus?
A: Yes. The Mass Communication program has a few graduate teaching
assistantship and research assistantship positions available each year.
You must be formally admitted into the program and complete an application
to be considered for these positions. Check with our office for more information.
There may also be similar jobs available campus-wide. Check with the College
of Graduate Studies for more information.
Q:
How long does it take to complete the M.S. degree?
A: A full load is considered to be 2 classes per semester. If you
were to take 2 classes a semester plus 1 in the summer, you would complete
your degree in 2 years. Most working professionals take 1 class per semester
plus 1 in the summer, and complete their degrees in 3 years. You have
up to 6 years total to complete your degree.
