Merit Badge University uses email and the web site exclusively for MBU communications.

  • We do not send out mass email or U.S. Mail reminders about MBU.

  • Please watch this site for class postings by mid-October. You may then submit your class requests based on that information.

  • Please contact John High if you have any issues with registration or the web site. Be sure to include your troop number and location in all emails.

The MTSU MBU is a public service by the campus Scouting community. The late Dr. Walker's vision for our MBU was that of a campus outreach project linking our University's academic purpose with that of the Boy Scouts of America's merit badge program. This is an entirely voluntary effort by dedicated faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni of the University.

President McPhee is solid supporter of Scouting. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Middle Tennessee Council and chaired the Hispanic Emphasis Committee. 

Given the budgetary pressures on universities across the state, activities like MBU are in need of demonstrated support from those served by it. To help secure MBU’s future, you are encouraged to communicate with Dr. McPhee each year to thank him for his support of Scouting and MTSU’s Merit Badge University.
