The MTSU MBU is a public service by the campus Scouting
community. The late Dr. Walker's vision for our MBU was that of
a campus outreach project linking our University's academic
purpose with that of the Boy Scouts of America's merit badge
program. This is an entirely voluntary effort by dedicated
faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni of the University.
President McPhee is solid supporter of Scouting. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Middle Tennessee Council and chaired the Hispanic Emphasis Committee.
Given the budgetary pressures on universities across the state, activities like MBU are in need of demonstrated support from those served by it. To help secure MBU’s future, you are encouraged to communicate with Dr. McPhee
each year to thank him for his support of Scouting and
MTSU’s Merit Badge University.
Individual Scouts, unit leaders, district or council volunteers and staff can make a major impact on the future of MBU at MTSU.
