Maximum Likelihood Applet
This applet is designed to demonstrate the likelihood function. The user
will see that the function itself is random, that the maximum of the likelihood
function is a good estimate for the parameter of interest, and that increasing
the sample size increases the accuracy of the method.
The applet is not finished yet, so I implemented the main functions in Excel and wrote a worksheet designed to walk the student through using it:
