5Repeated multiplication can be written in exponential notation. The base is
the factor that is being multiplied and the exponent (or power) is the number
of factors.

Examples:
Written with exponential notation.
Examples:
Exponential expressions are calculated.
Order of Operations To Perform:
·Perform
calculations inside grouping symbols (parentheses, brackets, absolute value
symbols, and radical symbols).
·Calculate
exponential expressions.
·Perform
multiplication & division in order from left to right.
·Perform
addition & subtraction in order from left to right.
Note: A fraction bar acts as a grouping
symbol. Perform the calculations in the numerator and the calculations in the
denominator before dividing.
