Project H.E.L.P. provides Early
Intervention services for high risk children, children with
developmental delays, and children with disabilities. We strive
to empower parents through a Family Support program,
which includes workshops, counseling and other supports. Through
our Preservice Training program, we educate
and prepare Middle Tennessee State
University students to work effectively with children who
have "special needs."
Funding
Project H.E.L.P. was established in 1983 as a non-profit
organization to provide early intervention
and family support services to children with
developmental delays and their families. Funding is provided through
grants from the State of Tennessee Division of Mental Retardation
Services and the United Way of Rutherford County, as well as a
contract with Tennessee Early Intervention Systems.
Middle Tennessee
State University supports Project H.E.L.P. by providing more
than 200 student volunteers per semester and by maintaining the
facility. The Charity Circle of Rutherford County is a major contributor
to Project H.E.L.P., providing us with much needed equipment,
toys and consumable items. Other sources of funding include individual
contributions, churches, civic clubs, businesses and industries.
