7-22-99, $49,419.72 Participated in the successful award of a matching grant from the Christy-Houston Foundation for $1,740,000 to build an addition to the CKNB. December, 2002. Actively engaged in development initiatives to support the School of Nursing. Goal = $12 million.
Successfully negotiated with Memorial Hospital the establishment of the Kay K. Chitty Professorship and the Chair of Nursing Excellence (two endowed gifts = $100,000 plus $1,000,000 respectively). 1997. Successfully negotiated the establishment of a new scholarship for undergraduate students. Christine Little, a graduate of the BSN program, established an endowed fund to support this new scholarship. 1997. Successfully completed development goal of raising $15,000 (contributed by School of Nursing faculty) to support a new scholarship for undergraduate nursing students. The School of Nursing Honors Scholarship is now fully endowed. 1997. Successfully solicited gifts from major donors to support School of Nursing projects: i.e: H. Clay Evans Johnson gift $10,000. 1996 Successfully negotiated (with other UTC administrators) affiliation agreement with Erlanger Medical Center to develop a collaborative program in nurse anesthesia in our MSN program.
