"Relative Aging of Distributions"
co-author with Kyle Siegrist, Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 12, 1998, 469-478. Examines the reliability of one random variable relative to another. Shows the exponential property defines an equivalence relation on distributions, and aging properties define a partial order on distributions.

"Environmental Economics" accepted for publication in Environmental Mathematics book to be published by the MAA. This chapter provides information and examples for students in high school to learn about how mathematics can be used to measure the economics of environmental issues.

"Burst Pressure Prediction in Graphite/Epoxy Pressure Vessels Using Neural Networks and Acoustic Emission Amplitude Data" co-author with E. K. Hill, and J.L. Walker. Materials Evaluation, Volume 54/No. 6, pages 744-748,754. American Society for Nondestructive Testing, (1996). Developed and evaluated neural networks used to predict the burst pressure of graphite/epoxy vessels.

Presentations

"Undergraduate Research & Math at MTSU"  presented to MTSU NSF CSEM Scholars.  November  2002 & (revised) 2004.

"Safety First"  NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsvwww.mtsu.edu/~rowellille, AL.  MSFC Directors Meeting. January 29, 2001.  Invited Presenter.  Presented a history of the "Safety First" concept beginning with the original efforts of Dr. Joseph A. Holmes in the coal mining industry.  Dr. Holmes was the first Director of the U.S. Bureau of Mines and is considered the "father of safety first." Parallels were made between Dr. Holmes' work with safety issues in the mining industry and Dr. Wernher von Braun's work with safety issues in the spaceflight industry and their influences today.
