That's Terri and me sporting our tuxes for the awards dinner at the American Association for Public Opinion Research in Phoenix, 2004. Note the cowgirl touches -- string tie and western formal shirt -- in Terri's outfit. The gold medal around my neck is, alas, not the Nobel Prize but Vanderbilt's Founders Medal for First Honors, given me on my belated graduation from the Divinity School the day before.

While on a trip to India in January 2003,  we "adopted" three girls at a girls hostel and orphanage run by MTSU Mass Comm Dean Anantha Babbili's in-laws. They are, from left, Sheeba (b. 1987), Esther (b. 1990), and Lavanya (b. 1993):

Terri and I look forward to a long, affectionate association with our beautiful new daughters. We hope to visit them often in India and bring them to the U.S. from time to time.  [go to top]

Terri loves menus; Cowgirl Hall of Fame, Santa Fe, July 1999

Terri loves menus; Chez Francis, Paris, September 1999

Terri loves cheese too; in the cheese isle at Carrefour, Antibes, France, December 2002

Terri is delighted with a flamboyant flaming desert at an otherwise disappointing restaurant in Venice, December 2000
