Sample Standard Deviation 

Note:  You should already have the Temperature (F) and Water Consumption Values stored from the Arithmetic Mean Minitab procedure.

To calculate the Standard Deviation:

1.  Click Calc then click Column Statistics. 
     The following box should appear: 

2.  Click Standard Deviation.

6.  Click in the Input variable box.  The two titles should appear in the box on the left (as seen above). 

7.  Click Temperature in the box on the left.

8.  Click the Select button.

9.  Click OK.  The answer should appear in the session window.

10.  Repeat this process to find the standard deviation for the water consumption data.
