This page includes Step-by-Step instructions to use Minitab to test the multiple regression equation for the Water/Temperature/Mowing Time example.

Example: Assume that during a three-hour period spent outside, a person recorded the outside temperature, the time they spent mowing the grass, and their water consumption.

Use Minitab to test the regression equation if the amount of the amount of water consumed is dependent on the temperature and the time they spent mowing the grass. Use the data given below.

Preliminaries: Entering the data.

Enter the Temperature data in column 1 and water in column 2. Put the category names in the title row.

Procedure:

Select Stats>Regression>Regression
For Response type in 'Water Consumption' and for Predictors type 'Time Mowing' 'Temperature'
Select OK
