1. Enter "Mowing Time (hrs)" in the title row of column C1.
  2. Enter "Water Consumption (oz)" in the title row of column C2.
  3. Enter the data in exact order in the appropriate columns of Minitab’s worksheet.

  4.   From the main menu bar select STAT > TIME SERIES > MOVING AVERAGE. 

        a.  Enter "3" in MA length box.

        b.  Check  Center the moving averages.

        c.  Click Storage. Make sure that Moving averages is checked.

        d.  Click OK.

  5.  Click OK. All smoothed values should appear in column C3.

  6.  Rename AVER 1 in cell C3 to Smoothed Values (oz).

The graph produced by Minitab is...

  7.  Save project. Select FILE > SAVE PROJECT AS. Call the project msmoothmowtemp.
