Interested Business Majors
Students desiring to major in business will enter the program as Pre-Business majors and will apply for admission to the Jones College of Business after fulfilling the following requirements.
Requirements for Admission to the Jones College of Business (Effective Fall 2007)
Minimum of 30 semester hours of
degree credits (excluding Academic Enrichment and High School Deficiencies)
Completion of all high school
deficiency requirements
Completion of all academic
enrichment requirements
Cumulative GPA of 2.250 on all
college-level coursework
A 2.000 average among these four
designated pre-business courses:

Jones College majors will not be allowed to register for upper-division business courses (except those listed below) until they have been admitted into the College.
(Students who are juniors may register for the following courses before being fully admitted to the Jones College: BCEN 3510, BLAW 3400, FIN 3010, INFS 3100, MGMT 3610, and MKT 3820). Registration in these courses does not guarantee admission into the Jones College.
Students must be admitted at least one semester prior to their anticipated graduation date.
Business minors and non-business majors who need to take upper-division courses must attain junior standing, achieve a 2.000 GPA and obtain permission from the Dean’s office.
These admission standards have been established by the Jones College faculty and administration and are subject to change.
