Dr. Jason D. Johnson,
assistant professor of Mathematics Education, is interested in how
students learn mathematics through a social justice context. He
received his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from The Florida State
University in 2005. Prior to joining MTSU, he spent several years
teaching at The Florida State University and Florida A&M University.
Dr. Johnson has experience teaching elementary, middle, and high
school mathematics, teaching various fields of mathematics and
levels in Orlando, Florida. At that time, he was extremely active
with curriculum implementation for students with learning
disabilities in mathematics. He was awarded Rookie of the Year by
the Seminole Council Teachers of Mathematics in 2001.
Dr. Johnson is also interested in the following research topics:
