The ESL Enterprise Grant is a 5 year grant awarded to Middle Tennessee State University to increase the number of qualified ESL teachers in the State. Two cohorts of approximately 90 students will complete an 18 credit course load at MTSU. The courses are delivered online and fulfill all of the competencies required to be a qualified ESL teacher. Teacher leaders are selected from each cohort. They provide support to the classroom teachers in their school systems, inform administrators of ESL student needs, and encourage other teachers to become responsive teachers for their ESL students.
