Murfreesboro-AAUW meets usually on the 2nd Thursday, September through May (excluding January), & always at 5-7 PM.

SEPT. 17

Forest Oaks I Clubhouse, 1002 East Northfield Blvd.  Potluck Dinner and “Shape the Future: Books by and about Women Auction” to benefit the AAUW Educational Foundation and the Legal Advocacy Fund. / New members may join at the meeting for $39.00, about one-half price of the usual dues. / Donation: Big & tall trash bags for the Domestic Violence Program.  Note this the third Thursday of the month.

OCT. 8

Farm Bureau, 818 S. Church St.  Dinner, program, and business meeting. / Program: Financial Planning for Women. Speakers: Jennifer A. Sexton and Elaine K. Lytle of Sexton and Associates / Donation: Toilet paper and paper towels for the Domestic Violence Program.

NOV. 12

Farm Bureau, 818 S. Church St.  Dinner, program, and business meeting. / Program: Planning for Retirement in Two Years or Twenty. Speakers: Jennifer A. Sexton and Elaine K. Lytle of Sexton and Associates / Donation: Bath towels for the Domestic Violence Program.

DEC. 03

FEB. 11

Farm Bureau, 818 S. Church St.  Dinner, program, and business meeting. / Program: Problems Facing Some Women Today in China and in the United States. Speakers: Yuan-ling Chao, Associate Professor of History, MTSU, and Gloria Hamilton, Professor of Psychology, MTSU / Donation: Women’s hygiene products for the Domestic Violence Program.

MAR. 04

MTSU, Room TBA.  National Women’s History Month reception, program, and business meeting. / Program: Women During WW II. Speaker: Jan Leone, Professor of History, MTSU / Donation: Sugar or sugar substitutes for the Domestic Violence Program. Note this is the first Thursday of the month.

APRIL  08

Farm Bureau, 818 S. Church St.  Dinner, program, and business meeting. / Speaker Melissa Lobegeier, Associate Professor of Geosciences at MTSU, will discuss her $165,000 EPA grant to study water quality in southwestern Virginia. / Donation: Laundry supplies for the Domestic Violence Program.

MAY 13

Forest Oaks Clubhouse, 1002 East Northfield Blvd.  Annual meeting to renew memberships and elect officers with a Potluck Dinner and Buffalo Auction / Donation: Children’s underwear for the Domestic Violence Program.
