NCCWSL
NCCWSL: National Conference for College Women Student Leaders
NCCWSL is an annual two-and-a-half day conference sponsored by AAUW and
designed to enhance the leadership skills of college women students and
to promote effectiveness in their work on campus and in the community.
More than 500 women attended in 2008, one of whom was AAUW-TN
scholarship recipient Ashlyn Gurley (Maryville College). Ashlyn says,
“Attending the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at
Georgetown University in Washington D.C. was one of the most amazing
experiences I’ve ever had. . . .
[It] was life-changing for me. I navigated myself through a large
city alone, met lots of other motivated young women that I instantly
bonded with, and learned about all of the great females working to help
females like me.”
AAUW of Tennessee along with Tennessee branches awards scholarships to
Tennessee college and university students to attend NCCWSL.
The student must be nominated by her local branch.
