bullet For students with teaching credentials, six credits of practicum (LIBS 6180 and LIBS 6190 or SPSE 6550) are required.
bullet For students without teaching credentials, a student teaching experience is required (LIBS 6511) Although, YOED 4000 objectives must be met, students do not enroll in YOED 4000. On campus attendance at YOED 4000 classes is required.

bulletComprehensive exams must be taken to be awarded the M.Ed. These are taken in the semester of graduation. On campus presence required for the exam.
bullet Licensure:
bulletTo attain Tennessee licensure as a school information specialist, students must file an application for licensure and pass the NTE Librarian Specialty test.
bulletApplicants without teaching credentials are required to complete an additional 9 credit hours of education coursework which will enable them to attain the competencies specified in the Department of Education’s Professional Core. (Foed 1110, Foed 2110, SPED 3010)
bulletInitial license candidates must also pass the NTE Principles of Learning and Teaching.
