  Accreditation
MTSU Aerospace had been nationally accredited since 1992. The Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) has accredited all five of the Aerospace concentrations!

  Flight Labs
Students should download and print off the entire packet, but only sign and return the first two pages to the Aerospace Department Office. They must submit a hard copy no later than October 1, 2008 in order to be considered for the spring 2009 semester.

MTSU Aerospace

You may choose from five emphases within the aerospace major according to the aspect of aviation you wish to pursue:

Aerospace Administration
The Administration concentration offers instruction designed for students who are interested in careers in the various aspects of aerospace administration and management. Selected general studies and minor courses are interwoven with aerospace courses to provide students with a foundation for such careers.
 
Aerospace Technology
The aerospace technology emphasis is designed for students interested in technical career opportunities in the aerospace manufacturing industry. Students will receive a strong background in mathematics, the sciences, industrial studies, and the more technical aerospace courses.

Flight Dispatch and Scheduling
The Flight Dispatch and Scheduling concentration offers instruction designed to meet the aviation industry's needs by preparing professional, corporate, and airline flight dispatchers and schedulers. Selected general studies and minor courses are interwoven with required aerospace courses to provide students with a foundation for careers in this area.

Maintenance Management
The Maintenance Management concentration offers instruction designed for students who are interested in careers as skilled technicians or managers in aircraft manufacturing, aircraft repair, engine overhaul, or space vehicle repair. MTSU is an approved FAA FAR Part-147 maintenance technician school for airframe and power-plant maintenance.

Professional Pilot

The professional pilot emphasis offers flight education at several levels: private pilot, commercial/instrument pilot, flight instructor, multi-engine, and airline transport pilot. Flight training approved by the Federal Aviation Administration is offered. In addition to the extensive real flight experience, simulator training is available through the department.
