The Tullahoma Campaign was an enormous
logistical and strategic maneuver covering hundreds, if
not thousands of square miles. The major military
operations were played out in what are today five
counties - Rutherford, Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, and
Moore (created after the war) - and located in the
southeastern corner of the middle Tennessee region.
The main
communities in the Tullahoma Campaign area were
Bell
Buckle, Fairfield,
Beech Grove,
Wartrace,
Shelbyville,
Tullahoma,
Manchester,
Estill Springs/Allisonia,
Decherd,
Winchester,
Cowan, and
Sewanee.
