Ruth
Bowdoin, Murfreesboro,
TN
Ruth Bowdoin’s 38-year career has been dedicated to
classroom teaching, supervision, parent education and consulting. She
is best known for developing Classroom On Wheels, a mobile unit for
at-risk preschool children and a model program for parents. She is the
author of a parenting series, The Bowdoin Method. For her
accomplishments she has received numerous local, state, and national
awards, including an honor by the President of the
United States. Ruth
is an alumna of Troy State University with an additional study at
Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State
University. She retired from Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford
County. |

Catherine LeDuke, Tiptonville, TN
Catherine LeDuke
retired from the Lake County school system after a 31-year service in
education at Tiptonville High School and Lake County High School.
Graduate and undergraduate degrees were earned from the University of
Memphis. Former students speak of her language teaching skills that not
only educated, but also nurtured, mentored and helped build individual
values. Since retirement she has been a community leader with
activities involving her community, church and civic activities.

Terry
Weeks,Murfreesboro,
TN
Upon induction, Terry
Weeks had spent over 21 years in education as a teacher in the
Rutherford County school system and as an associate professor at
Middle
Tennessee
State University. Education achievements include undergraduate and
graduate degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctorate
from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Terry’s influence and
ideas have touched the lives of students and several leaders, including
Presidents Reagan and Bush. Among other awards, in 1977, he
distinguished himself as the Tennessee Teacher of the Year, and in 1988
he became the first Tennessean recognized as the National Teacher of the
Year. |
