The following list details the training modules available to all Tennessee agencies through the Tennessee Transit Training Center . To request a training module, please submit an Online Request Form (submitted electronically) or a Fax Request Form (pdf form to print and send to 615-849-3574).

Bill Judge's What DOT Supervisors Need To Know About Reasonable Suspicion Testing
This new training module features Bill Judge, nationally known DOT Drug Law Expert, and is designated to help you meet the DOT training requirements for supervisors of safety-sensitive employees as described in 49 CFR Part 40.

Bloodborne Pathogens
Contains up-to-date, accurate information consistent with the OSHA compliance. This DVD provides Emergency Care and Safety Institute instructors and students the technology resources needed to present and understand critical information and skills to maintain safe work environments for all employees engaged in handling blood and other potentially infectious materials.
Building Quality Service: Everyone's A Customer
The goal of this module is to enable rural transit system staff, managers, and board members to learn and understand the basic concepts of quality service in rural transit and identify their role in building such service.
Changing Attitudes

Roles and Responsibilities of Transit Managers-Leading the Rural Transit Agency
This training package is designed especially for managers and supervisors who are new to rural and small communtiy transit. But, veteran managers are sure to find useful information and tips, as well. It is divided into three central themes: Leadership: Knowing Your Values and Living Them; Hiring, Training and Keeping the Best People; and Effective and Efficient Operations

RTAP: Problem Passengers, Challenging Situations
Designed to help drivers and other personnel who deal directly with the public recognize, avert, and control disruptive behavior. By applying the principles featured, drivers can make professional choices that communicate with the problem passenger without letting a situation get out of hand and jeopardizing the safe transport of others.
Safe Transport of the Public Under the Americans with Disabilities Act
SNAPP (Safety Needs Assistance and Awareness Program)
This program was developed to train public transportation vehicle drivers who transport passengers with disabilities or the elderly.
NEW! STARTS (Special Transit and Rural Transit Safety)
Consisting of three training modules: Vehicle Safety Inspections, Driver Sensitivity and Passenger Relations, and Defensive and Safe Driving Procedures. STARTS begins with a slide/tape presentation and ends with skills being demonstrated by the driver to earn a certificate.
NEW! Status Report on the Use of Wheelchairs and Other Mobility Devices in Public and Private Transportation
This report looks at the current issues of seniors and people with disabilities boarding and being secured on public transportation vehicles. Safe boarding and proper securement are critical to ensuring a safe ride for all passengers. If people feel safer and more comfortable with riding transit, they will more frequently utilize public transportation services.
Substance Abuse Awareness in Rural Transit
Trading Places: Assisting Passengers With Special Needs
This training package is designed to educate and/ or remind transit personnel of the obstacles confronting many elderly and disabled passengers and to offer practical suggestions for better serving these riders.
Transportation Coordination
This training package is designed for transit managers and policy makers interested in heightened efficiency and improved cost effectiveness of transit service delivery.
Understanding the Capabilities and Needs of Special Passengers
Designed to help transit operators communicate and work more effectively with riders who are elderly or who have disabilities.
